Carlos A. Murga-Zamalloa, MD receives two awards at USCAP, 2017

Hematopathology Fellow, Carlos A. Murga-Zamalloa, MD received the Benjamin Castleman Award from the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. This award is granted for an outstanding paper in the field of human pathology. Laura W. Lamps, MD wins the President’s Award at USCAP, 2017

Each year, the President and Executive Committee of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology have the opportunity to recognize an individual for outstanding service to the field and to the Academy. This year, Laura W. Lamps, MD received the honor. Dr. Lamps is the Godfrey D. Stobbe Professor of Gastrointestinal Pathology and also serves as Michigan Medicine’s Patient Safety Officer. [ ... ]

A Star from the Beginning – Arul Chinnaiyan, MD, PhD leads multipronged exploration of cancer’s molecular drivers

Dr. Chinnaiyan knew early on that he wanted his research to have direct applications to clinical care. Now the S.P. Hicks Endowed Professor of Pathology, he runs his own laboratory and is the director of the Michigan Center for Translational Pathology. The goal of the center is to develop new molecular tests and therapeutics for human disease, with a primary focus on cancer. Read the full article in Cancer.
