	Karen Barron MLS (ASCP) (Allied Health Education Program Manager) Email: karbarro@med.umich.edu Phone: 734-232-6751 Karen has clinical laboratory experience in Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology, Point of Care Testing, Quality and Compliance, Billing and Revenue Cycle. Karen received her Bachelor Degree in Biology at University of Toledo and completed her clinical laboratory internship at Mercy Hospital in Toledo. She is a registered Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS (ASCP). Karen worked in the Blood Bank at Medical College of Ohio and then enjoyed many years as a medical technologist in Infectious Disease Pathology at Promedica Laboratories. She later served as Laboratory Compliance Officer for ProMedica Laboratories. Karen came to Michigan Medicine in 2017 and managed the Point of Care testing section. In 2022 she took on the role of Allied Health Education Program Manager.
	Sheridan Mattson (Chemistry) Email: smattson@med.umich.edu Phone: 734-936-6758 Sheridan has been in the chemistry field since 1999 and has been a member of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) since 2009. Sheridan began his career at U of M Health Systems in 2006 as the Toxicology Supervisor. His duties include the overall responsibility for the Toxicology Laboratory as well as assay development utilizing instrumentation such as Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS), Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GCMS), Atomic Absorption (AA) and High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The labs primary role is to perform Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) and unknown drug analysis/screening for the treatment and follow up care of patients. Before he started at U of M, he worked as the Lead Toxicologist at Biotech Clinical Laboratories in Farmington, MI and as Lab Manager at US Liquids in Detroit, MI. At both locations he received valuable technical skills, knowledge and experience with mass spectrometry. Sheridan received his Bachelor Degree in Chemistry from Adrian College in Adrian, MI.
	Cassidy Wood (ASCP)^CM (Hematology and Coagulation) Email: cassidwo@med.umich.edu Phone: 734-936-6797 Cassidy graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. At Wayne State University Cassidy was involved in fertility research for two years at the medical school and volunteered with multiple health care organizations within the Detroit community. She was a learning assistant for introductory chemistry and biology classes during her undergraduate degree. After, she completed her Medical Laboratory Science internship at the University of Michigan and has been a part of the Core Hematology and Coagulation laboratory ever since. She is also an Instructional Assistant at Wayne State University teaching in the Medical Laboratory Science program in the hematology laboratories. Currently, she is in the process of completing her Master of Education in Learning, Design and Technology at Wayne State University. In her free time Cassidy enjoys playing softball, exercising, cooking/baking and reading.
	Cody Demeter MLS (ASCP)^CM (Blood Bank) Email: jdemeter@med.umich.edu Phone: 734-936-6888 Cody graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. He completed a Medical Laboratory Science internship at the University of Michigan, followed by accepting a position in the Blood Bank laboratory at Michigan Medicine. Cody continues to gain clinical experience in the Blood Bank laboratory as a Medical Technologist Specialist and is the dpeartments Clinical Educator. He enjoys working with the interns to help them develop confidence in their skills as Blood bankers. In his free time, Cody denjoys being a father, practicing jiu jitsu, and spending time with family.

	Lynn Knudson-Horneber (Constitutional Cytogenetics) Email: lknudson@med.umich.edu Phone: 734-763-5805 Lynn graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science with a specialty in Cytogenetics. She completed a Cytogenetics internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit followed by accepting a position in the Cytogenetics laboratory at Henry Ford Hospital. Lynn came to Michigan Medicine and the Cytogenetics laboratory in 2003. She has been a supervisor for Constitutional Cytogenetics since 2017.
	Kathleen Chandler, MLS(ASCP) (Histocompatibility) Email: krchandl@med.umich.edu Phone: 734-647-2774 Kathleen graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Grand Valley State University in 1993 in Health Science with emphasis in Medical Technology and a minor in Chemistry. She completed her Internship at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City in 1994. Kathleen began working at University of Michigan Hospital in the Hematology Laboratory in July 1994. She took a position in the Histocompatibility Laboratory in November 1998. She has performed lymphocyte crossmatching, HLA antibody testing and HLA typing by both serological and molecular methods. Kathleen is a Senior Medical Technologist in the DNA section of the laboratory and performs many administrative duties as well as performing patient testing.

	Kyle Jennings MLS (ASCP)^CM(Histocompatibility) Email: kyleje@med.umich.edu Phone: (734) 647-2774 Kyle graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. He did his internship here at the University of Michigan and was hired into the Histocompatibility lab at the end of his internship. Since then he's been fulfilled with his work, helping patients receive and keep their transplants. In his free time, Kyle enjoys wrenching on cars and playing hockey.
