Gynecologic Pathology Fellowship

Next Opening: 2028-2029

The Gynecologic Pathology fellowship is a one-year program that begins on July 1 and continues through June 30 of the following year. The fellowship provides comprehensive exposure to the surgical pathology of the female genital tract, emphasizing rigorous diagnosis in context of the published literature and clinicopathologic correlation. The fellow's responsibilities include 1) preview of consultation cases from a busy national consultation service, including preparation of consult letters; 2) presentation of cases at the weekly Gynecologic Oncology tumor board; and 3) coordination of the twice-weekly gynecological pathology consensus conference. In the second half of the academic year, qualified fellows will have the opportunity to participate in graduated independent sign-out of transfer consultations and in-house cases, pursuant to each fellow’s level of preparedness. Exposure to the frozen section service (including gynecological and general surgical pathology cases) will be scheduled in coordination with each fellow’s interests and experience. Research and teaching opportunities will be tailored to each fellow's interests, with opportunities to participate in clinical, translational, and/or basic research projects related to gynecologic pathology. This program is not ACGME accredited.
