Nisha D'Silva, PhD Awarded 8.1M Grant for Cancer Research

Head and neck cancer is the sixth-most common cancer in the world. Nisha D'Silva, PhD has received a Sustaining Outstanding Achievement in Research, or SOAR, award for research of the disease. D'Silva plans to use the money, which will be disbursed over eight years, to study the molecular pathways that control invasion of the cancer with the hope to improve patients' survival rates. 

SOAR provides support for mid-career investigators who have provided exceptional mentorship and service to the research community and are funded by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research.
