Sunny Fall Day Brings Record Turnout at Pathology Department's Annual Picnic

Fall Picnic-2024On a bright October day, the Department of Pathology convened for its much-anticipated annual Fall Picnic at Wiard's Orchard in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The event saw an impressive turnout of faculty, staff, trainees, and their families, all eager to enjoy a delightful spread of hamburgers, hot dogs, cider, and donuts. Attendees also delighted in a variety of autumn activities including hayrides, pumpkin picking, and visits to the petting zoo.

Dr. Charles Parkos, Chair of the Department, expressed his appreciation for the event's significance. “The Fall Picnic is a wonderful tradition for our department. It is a time when all can step away from their professional roles and enjoy the company of colleagues and families in a relaxed, fun, and joyful setting. We hope this event helps to build not just a team, but a community and contributes to a sense of belonging."

Yvonne Beadle, Administrative Assistant for the Department of Pathology, was instrumental in organizing the event and was thrilled withFall Picnic-2024 the outcome. “We were fortunate to have such spectacular weather for this year’s Fall Picnic, with a large turnout! It is always wonderful to see everyone come together, and as usual, the food was fantastic. The donuts and cider were particularly amazing!” she remarked.
