In Memoriam: Hope Jones

The Department of Pathology is sad to share the unexpected passing of Hope Jones who passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
Hope started her career as a phlebotomist in 2004 working at an assisted living facility before transitioning to laboratory-based work. She joined Michigan Medicine’s Department of Pathology laboratories in 2018, and recently joined the Digital Pathology team in January 2024. Eric Jedynak, Pathology Informatics Administrative Director, commented, "We were excited to have Hope join the team - she was eager to learn, shared her thoughts and ideas as we worked through our new workflows, and was looking forward to our Digital Pathology go live. We are shocked and saddened by her loss."
Hope is survived by her two children, James and Destiny, and her mother, Mildred Jones.
A funeral memorial service will be Saturday, May 25, starting at 10:30am at Greater Love Tabernacle Church (17617 Plymouth Rd, Detroit, 48227).
A Go-Fund Me account has been set up to help Hope’s mother to cover the funeral expenses, and any remaining amount will be placed in an account for her children.
