Participation at the Cerebral Vascular Biology Meeting 18-22 June, 2023 Uppsala, Sweden
Dr. Andjelkovic-Zochowska gave the talk "Epigenetic signatures associated with blood-brain barrier in aging and neurodegeneration" this past June at the CVB 2023 as an invited speaker.

Chelsea Phillips and Muyu Situ at the International Gap Junction Conference
Coruña, Spain July, 2022
This recent summer, our graduate students Chelsea and Muyu presented their work at the International Gap Junction Conference in A Coruña, Spain. Chelsea gave a talk titled "The 20 kDa isoform of connexin-43 (GJA1-20K) alters the transcriptome and DNA methylome of brain endothelial cells''. Muyu gave a flash talk and presented a poster titled "Dynamic role of connexin-45 in modulating blood brain barrier injury in cerebral amyloid angiopathy". In addition to presenting their work to the gap junction community, they were able to enjoy the beautiful weather and sights.

Martínez-Revollar and Phillips—Poster Winners at Symposium Pleased to announce that postdoc Gabriela Martínez-Revollar and graduate student Chelsea M Phillips were both poster presenters’ winners at the 23rd Symposium - International Brain Barriers Society. Gaby presented "Claudin-1 overexpression remodels tight junction complex, leading to blood brain barrier dysfunction in aging" and Chels presented “A 20kDa isoform of Connexin-43 (Cx43-20kDa) mediates transcriptomic and epigenetic changes in brain endothelial cells”.
