Announcing the 13th Annual Chemistry-Biology Interface Training Program Symposium

The CBI Symposium will be held on Tuesday, Oct 30th from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, with lectures in the Rackham Amphitheater and a poster session in both the East and West Conference rooms. This symposium is designed to foster awareness of the cutting-edge research being conducted at the interface of the fields of chemistry and biology and features guest speaker Dr. Tarun Kapoor from Rockefeller University.  Additionally, Professors Emily Scott from UM Medicinal Chemistry and Yoichi Osawa from UM Pharmacology will also present lectures. Presentations to highlight the work of CBI Trainees will also take place. The poster session (4:40 pm - 6:00 pm) is open to all students and postdocs wanting to participate, and all interested faculty, students, and staff are invited to join us throughout the day.

Abstracts for the poster session are encouraged from all graduate students and postdocs working in topics related to the Chemistry-Biology Interface. Submissions from other universities are welcome as well. Abstracts should be submitted to Sarah Kearns (skearns@umich.edu) and should be ~250 words following the template provided (see attached).  In the email, please include your name and "2018 CBI Symposium Abstract” in the subject line. The submission deadline is Tuesday, October 16th.  Contact us at cbi.gen.info@umich.edu  with any questions.

Please share and distribute the flyer to colleges and other departments as well. Thank you and looking forward to your submissions!
