Pathology Informatics Director Inducted

We congratulate Dr. Ulysses G. J. Balis, M.D., FCAP, FASCP, Professor of Pathology; Director, Division of Pathology Informatics; Director, Pathology Informatics Fellowship Program as he is inducted into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows. He will join the top two percent of medical and biological engineers in the country.  Dr. Balis was nominated, reviewed, and elected by peers and members of the College of Fellows for outstanding contributions to the fields of laboratory instrumentation, pathology bioinformatics and computational imaging in histology image search/analysis. Fellows in the AIMBE  have demonstrated excellence and outstanding accomplishments in the fields of medical and biological engineering in order to advance society.  He will be inducted as an AIMBE Fellow on March 16th at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C.
