Michigan Meets Malpighi Pathology Academy: Practical Gastrointestinal & Thoracic Pathology

The collaboration between Michigan Medicine Laboratories (MLabs) in the Department of Pathology at the University of Michigan and the Malpighi Pathology Academy to meet the educational needs of an international audience. This course borrows elements of the New Frontiers in Pathology Fall conference held in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the USA to fulfill the objectives of the Malpighi Pathology Academy to provide educational activities of value to practicing anatomic pathologists. A series of 16 lectures will address common diagnostic problems in gastrointestinal and thoracic pathology including both non-neoplastic and neoplastic diseases of the tubular gut, lung, mediastinum, and pleura. Emphasis will be on histopathological diagnosis and appropriate utilization of ancillary studies including immunohistochemistry and molecular tools. At the end of this course, participants will have a better understanding of new methods of diagnosis using current tools and information technology and will be able to implement these in their daily practice.

The entire course includes 16 lectures by Drs. Greenson and Myers from the University of Michigan in the United States.
