Chemical Pathology Fellowship

The Department of Pathology offers an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Chemical Pathology.  Our goal is to train diagnostically excellent Chemical Pathologists who will be leaders in patient care and innovators who contribute to clinical, translational or basic research.  Programs include modern automated laboratory testing, protein electrophoresis pattern interpretations, hemoglobinopathy evaluation, immunoserology, molecular techniques, mass spectrometry, point-of-care testing, development of evidence-based algorithms, personalized medicine, and evaluations of large scale testing error.  The fellowship is housed in our Department of Pathology, one of the premier academic pathology departments in the country.  As such, Chemical Pathology fellows will enjoy stimulating colleagues, first-rate faculty, and state-of-the-art resources while participating in established courses and journal clubs with other fellows and residents in the Pathology Department.  The training environment includes access to an abundance of diverse case material available at the 1,000 bed complex care facility we serve. Educational opportunities for the fellow include participation in on-going multidisciplinary conferences including myeloma conference, rheumatology grand rounds, nephrology grand rounds and clinical pathology conferences. Further, the Chemical Pathology fellow will direct the development of new testing and have an opportunity to engage the rich opportunities available in the Department of Pathology, our medical center and undergraduate campus. Finally, the diversity of active biomedical research core facilities and biomedical engineering students who rotate through our laboratories provide unique opportunities for collaboration. 


Requirements:

Applicants must be Board-certified or eligible in anatomic and clinical pathology or in clinical pathology alone. Applicants must be US citizens, legal permanent residents (green card holders) or J1 visa holders.
